Job Overview
As an Apprentice Electrician, you will work alongside experienced electricians and solar installers to learn the skills needed to install, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV (photovoltaic) systems. This apprenticeship is ideal for individuals passionate about renewable energy and looking to gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar PV systems for residential and commercial properties.
- Learn and apply electrical principles, wiring, and system layouts specific to solar energy installations.
- Work with electrical components such as inverters, batteries, and control panels.
- Support the testing and commissioning of solar systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Follow health and safety guidelines, including working at heights and handling electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults.
- Engage in on-the-job training and attend relevant courses to enhance technical knowledge.
Requirements
- Interest in electrical work and renewable energy.
- Willingness to learn and complete an electrical apprenticeship qualification.
