Banksman / Slinger

We are delighted to be assisting our client who are looking to recruit a Banksman / Slinger to join their operations team at Longside. The successful candidate will support lifting operations across the site, ensuring the safe movement of tubulars, containers, machinery and equipment. Full training can be provided for the right candidate, with salary dependent on experience and qualifications.

Hours: 0800 - 1630 with occasional overtime and flexibility required
Please note: A driving licence or your own transport is essential due to the location 
This role is based on a temp-perm basis following a successful trial period

Key Duties:

• Assist with and direct lifting operations in a safe and controlled manner.
• Act as a banksman for forklifts, cranes and vehicle movements.
• Sling and secure loads in accordance with approved lifting procedures.
• Communicate clearly with equipment operators using recognised hand signals and radio communication.
• Assist with the loading, unloading and movement of tubulars, containers and equipment.
• Carry out pre-use inspections of lifting accessories.
• Support general yard operations and housekeeping activities as required.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
• Ability to follow instructions and work procedures.
• Previous experience as a Banksman, Slinger or Yard Operative.
• Banksman/Slinger certification desirable but not essential.
• Experience within the oil and gas, logistics, construction or heavy industrial sectors.
