Role: Bricklayer (also known as Ground, Brick and Masonry Worker)

Contract Type: Fixed term contract/secondment opportunity until July 2027

Working Hours: 37 hours per week - You will be required to work these hours in accordance with the needs and requirements of the service, between the hours of 6am and 8pm Monday to Friday

Worker Type: Off-site worker

Salary: Grade G - £36,363 (level 1), rising to £39,152 (level 4) per annum

About the Role

As an experienced Bricklayer, you will contribute to the provision of good quality rented housing, and the achievement of high levels of tenant satisfaction, improving the landlord and tenant relationships, and protecting health and safety. 

You will be responsible for carrying out works to any brick or stone work, wall structure, drainage, steps, paths and driveway. We will look to you to fault find and undertake appropriate remedial works where failure or breech of wall structure, steps, pathway, drainage is linked to water penetration and damp and ensure that any wall structure, drainage or pathways remain in reasonable state of repair and any inconvenience to customers is minimised. Part of this role may also require you to carry out specialised work such as scrapes, removal and arrange safe disposal of non-licensable asbestos based textured coatings.

We will also look to you to use elements of the skills of other general trades to meet the target of first-time fix where it is efficient and appropriate to do so.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of working in all aspects of Ground, Brick and Masonry works
  • Qualified, certified & trained to NVQ3 or C&G Advance Craft.
  • Full and valid driving licence.
  • Experience of communicating with customers with differing needs.
  • Experience of carrying out investigations and tests to identify faults and the root cause of issues and implement lasting solutions.
  • A well-organised and a methodical approach to completing tasks and prioritisation skills.
