We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Painter and Decorator.  Keeping our hotel running smoothly is vital to our guests' experience – as Painter and Decorator, you will be responsible for maintaining the décor of our guest bedrooms, and public and back-of-house areas. From simple repairs to forward-thinking for the next day, all with naturally high standards, approaching every task with devotion and pride.

This is a multi-site role for Hotel Indigo Glasgow, Heeton Concept Aparthotel—Edinburgh—Queen Street and Stewart Aparthotel by Heeton Concept. The two Edinburgh properties are located less than a two-minute walk from each other, Heeton Concept Aparthotel Queen Street Edinburgh and Stewart Aparthotel by Heeton Concept offer our guests a home away from home. Hotel Indigo Glasgow is a 3 minute walk from Glasgow Central station.

Your day-to-day

  • Repair or replace items around the hotel and refurbish items in guest rooms. By keeping on top of these tasks, you will keep our hotels looking great and working well.
  • Organise supplies and make sure equipment is ready for the next day
  • Live up to high safety standards – follow guidelines and tell your supervisor about any incidents, dangerous conditions or unsafe equipment
  • Take responsibility for the painting programme or routine maintenance
  • Ensure that the area where you work has been completed and is left in an acceptable condition. Also, any displaced items are returned or replaced
  • Always keep an eye out for improvements – follow the preventative maintenance calendar and keep everything working and efficient at all times
  • Be a friendly face and helping hand to our guests
  • Keep your supervisor or duty manager in the loop and tell them about any low-running supplies
  • Look smart and approachable in your uniform
  • Be ready to take on extra duties as and when the team needs you

What we need from you.

  • Painting and Decorating experience
  • Complying with health and safety laws
  • A can-do attitude and ability to respond flexibly to different guest requests and situations.
  • A good command of the English language and be very well presented.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and prioritise workload effectively
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Work diligently and effectively with excellent attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn new methods and other aspects of maintenance
