Electrical Lead - EV

Who we are

VOQA is a start-up building an EV charger for residential and commercial spaces. As part of ICM Group, with over $1.8 billion in funds under management, we enjoy the stability and support of a strong parent company while operating with the agility of a start-up. We are preparing to deploy our commercial pilot with a handful of UK customers and are looking for an experienced electrical lead to oversee all installation needs.

Who we’re looking for

An Electrical Lead with strong technical expertise in EV charger installations and electrical compliance. You will provide technical oversight and quality assurance for site surveys, installation documentation, and contractor work.

In the early days, you’ll also get stuck in across the business, supporting basic supply chain management, customer support, and maintenance investigations, while keeping installation quality and compliance at the heart of your role.

Your mission

• Review Site Surveys: Evaluate and approve third-party site surveys for pricing, quality, and compliance with safety regulations.
• Review Installation Reports: Provide feedback on wiring photos, diagrams, and installation documentation to ensure VOQA and regulatory standards are met.
• Installation Guidelines: Create and maintain a written set of clear, detailed, and actionable guidelines for VOQA charger installations.
• Contractor Support: Provide technical expertise and recommendations as needed, ensuring professional and timely communication within agreed SLAs.
  
  

Qualifications

• NICEIC-registered Qualifying Supervisor or equivalent.
• Gold Card holder (Electrician JIB Certification).

Experience & Skills

• Deep understanding of IET Wiring Regulations.
• Proven experience with EV charger installations or similar electrical infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated ability to review and approve technical documentation and installations.
• Strong understanding of safety and compliance standards.
• Clear and effective communicator with contractors and team members.
• Ability to take ownership of technical subject areas.
• Humility and adaptability in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Who you’ll be working with

Everyone! VOQA is a small, distributed team. The core business team is based in the UK, the product team is in Besançon (Eastern France), and we work with external software partners in France and Ukraine. Collaboration and communication are essential.

What will give you the edge

• Prior hands-on experience building technical standards and guidelines from scratch.
• A track record of supporting successful EV charger installations.

Hybrid - Bristol based (1-3 days a week in the office tbd)

Salary bracket £50k-£60k, offer will be commensurate with experience
