Fabricator / Welder

Ashtead Technology is seeking a skilled Fabricator / Welder to join our team, supporting our Lifting, Pulling and Deploying operations in Turriff. This role is central to the construction of high-quality steel components and structures, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Welding fabricated components in line with MMA, TIG and MIG welding processes.
• Undertaking and passing various WPS qualifications as required.
• Fabricating and assembling parts from technical drawings and verbal instructions, working to strict tolerances.
• Liaising with Fabrication and Welding supervisor, ensuring work is completed to meet project timelines.
• Operating workshop equipment and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Training and coaching apprentices in best practice and quality standards and leading the rest of the team as required.

What experience you'll bring:

• Time served apprenticeship in Fabrication / Welding
• Proven experience as a Fabricator / Welder with specific experience in MIG Welding, MMA and TIG also advantageous
• Experienced in the operation of press brakes and sheet metal guillotines.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and welding procedures as well as good knowledge of work permit, risk assessments and COSHH assessments.
• Additional experience in structural, sheet metal, and pipe fitting fabrication, along with welding structural fabrications and pipework across all processes in accordance with approved procedures is advantageous.
