Ocean Infinity is seeking an ambitious, collaborative, and innovative Inspection Lead to join its growing team. This role will sit within the Surface & Asset Integrity business unit, reporting to the Head of Surface & Asset Integrity and will act as the operational and technical lead for Ocean Infinity's Inspection services. The role is responsible for the quality, delivery, capability development, and continual improvement of the Inspection service line, supporting both internal project delivery and external client opportunities.
The role provides leadership across inspection operations, technical standards, personnel, subcontractor management, and service development. Working closely with operational, technical, and commercial stakeholders, the Inspection Lead ensures the successful delivery of inspection projects while driving capability growth, technical excellence, and the integration of inspection data and analytics to support the future growth of Ocean Infinity's asset integrity offering.
What you will do:
The duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Act as the technical authority for all inspection-related activities, standards, systems, methodologies and deliverables across Ocean Infinity's Surface & Asset Integrity business unit.
- Act as the primary inspection focal point for Tender, Commercial and Project teams, providing technical input, estimating support and solution development for client opportunities.
- Lead the planning, preparation and technical execution of structural, pipeline and asset integrity inspection projects.
- Coordinate, manage and quality assure internal personnel and subcontractors delivering inspection services, ensuring safe, efficient, commercially effective and high-quality project execution.
- Conduct remote inspection activities from the RCC as required to maintain operational awareness, technical competence and understanding of current delivery practices.
- Drive the technical development of Ocean Infinity's inspection capability, including inspection methodologies, workflows, standards and best practices.
- Identify, define and support the development of new inspection-related software, hardware and process improvements, working closely with Technology and Product Development teams.
- Contribute to the development and growth of Ocean Infinity's wider Asset Integrity offering, supporting new services, capabilities and commercial opportunities.
- Develop and maintain inspection procedures, technical guidance and knowledge management resources to support consistent and scalable delivery.
- Own the delivery of agreed Inspection service line objectives and contribute to wider Business Unit KPIs through effective leadership, performance management and continual improvement initiatives.
- Initiate and participate in risk assessments within their area of responsibility, ensuring appropriate controls are implemented and maintained.
- Ensure alignment with Ocean Infinity's strategy, values and risk framework, proactively managing technical, operational and delivery risks while driving continuous improvement.
- Develop and mentor inspection personnel, supporting competency development, knowledge sharing and succession planning across the Inspection service line.
Who you are:
- CSWIP 3.4U qualified with strong experience of offshore structural, pipeline and asset integrity inspections.
- Minimum 7 years' experience leading or coordinating inspection activities within the offshore survey, inspection or asset integrity sectors.
- Demonstrable experience delivering a wide range of inspection and survey scopes, including structural inspections, pipeline inspections, cable surveys and asset integrity projects.
- Strong understanding of offshore inspection technologies, methodologies and tooling, including Camera systems, DVRs, FMD, UTM, CP and ACFM techniques.
- Experience using inspection and asset integrity management systems such as Sense, Nexus, Integrity Elements, Apollo KnowHow or equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding of inspection data management, reporting, quality assurance and applicable industry standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors, coordinate technical delivery and maintain high standards of project execution.
- Proven ability to identify and develop improvements in inspection processes, technologies and ways of working.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across operational, technical and commercial teams.
- Proactive, accountable and commercially aware, with the ability to take ownership, solve problems and drive continuous improvement.
Salary for this position: Up to £95,000 per annum
Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
