About the Role

We are seeking a Lecturer in Plumbing and Domestic Heating to join our Building Services team.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Level 1–3 Plumbing & Domestic Heating programmes, supporting students to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for progression into employment or further study.

You will play a key role in delivering an ambitious, employer-led curriculum, ensuring lessons are engaging, well-sequenced and aligned to industry expectations. You’ll track learner progress, provide meaningful feedback, and contribute to the College’s strong quality assurance processes to ensure outstanding outcomes.

Working closely with curriculum, pastoral and student support teams, you will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes high standards of behaviour, attendance and achievement.

Key Responsibilities


  • Deliver well-planned, engaging and high-quality teaching and assessment across Plumbing & Domestic Heating programmes
  • Develop and deliver sequenced schemes of work and lesson plans that support sustained learner progress
  • Assess, mark and provide clear, constructive feedback in line with awarding body and College standards
  • Use initial and ongoing assessment to plan effectively and meet individual learner needs
  • Maintain accurate records, including registers, mark books and progress tracking systems
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes, including course reviews and self-assessment
  • Use digital technologies and the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to enhance learning
  • Promote positive behaviour, attendance and punctuality, working with support services where required
  • Engage with employers and external partners to enrich curriculum delivery and student experience


Requirements:


  • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Plumbing and Domestic Heating
  • Strong industry experience and up-to-date knowledge of sector developments
  • Ability to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
