Marine Welder/Fabricator

Our well established client in Peterhead is looking for a time served welder / fabricator experienced in MMA (Stick welding), MIG & TIG welding for a full time permanent position.

Please note applicants must have the right to work in the UK and stay within daily commute distance to Peterhead.

Responsibilities

• Pipework manufacturing.
• Steel plating work, primarily for the marine fishing industry & fishing vessel / ferry hull.
• Steel repairs & steel bulkhead work.
• All fabrication / burning work
• Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and resolve any fabrication issues that may arise.
• Utilise basic maths skills for measuring and cutting materials accurately.

Qualifications

• Coded Welder would be desirable but not essential as own company coding & welding procedures to be undertaken,
• Proven experience in fabrication and welding, with a strong understanding of mechanical principles.
• Proficiency in working with sheet metal and various welding techniques, particularly stick welding.
• Familiarity with operating power tools and hand tools safely.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Basic maths skills for calculations related to measurements and material requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work tasks.
