Painter and Decorator

Hours of Work: 40 per week (35 from Spring 2026)

We are looking to recruit an experienced individual to join our established team. Our Painter and Decorator’s provide painting and decorating works for the Group to a high and consistent standard 

 

In addition, we are looking for candidates that have a passion to advocate on behalf of people and communities.  

 

 

What do our Painter and Decorator’s do;  

  • Deliver high‑quality painting and decorating services across internal and external areas, including surface preparation, applying finishes, treating mould, working on timber/metal surfaces and completing minor remedial works. 

  • Work collaboratively with other trades to support fast void turnaround times, carry out maintenance in domestic and commercial properties, and provide excellent customer service when liaising with tenants and clients. 

  • Plan, assess and document work effectively, including ordering materials, completing daily records, checking customer satisfaction, interpreting drawings/measurements and participating in an out‑of‑hours emergency call‑out rota. 

  • Ensure safe and compliant working practices, operating tools and machinery correctly, using PPE, reporting asbestos or faulty equipment, maintaining vehicle checks, and working in line with health and safety, data protection and regulatory requirements. 

  • Support operational efficiency and team development, supervising apprentices where required, maintaining equipment and vehicle stock, following organisational policies and procedures, and contributing to value‑for‑money service delivery. 

 

What we are looking for;  

  • City and Guilds Craft or minimum NVQ level 2 in an appropriate craft based trade or substantial relevant experience 

  • Experience of working as part of a multidiscipline team 

  • Managing and prioritising a demanding workload.  

  • A friendly and professional manner  

  • Customer focused and a desire to provide a high quality service  

  • Experience of working collaboratively in a busy team environment. 

 

This is a hands-on role at the heart of the service that MSV delivers to our customers, so your effective communication skills and ability to understand with empathy the diverse needs of our customers will be key. You’ll be based in the communities we serve and will work under minimum supervision and as part of a team using a flexible approach.
