Overview:

MacTaggart Scott are looking to recruit a Pipe Fitter Fabricator to work with their Welding and Fabrication Department. The role will include the preparation and fitting of various pipe bore sizes and materials across a range of plants. This is an opportunity to join a growing team within the business and play an important part in the success of the business.

Role:

The role is part of the current Welding and Fabrication department and will be working in a fast-paced environment. The role will work closely with other member of the department such as welders to ensure the timely completion of welded pipe work to the correct quality standard.

Duties will include:

· Making sure that all relevant information and associated paperwork within the works order is available prior to starting.

· Checking that material issued matches the requirements of the drawings and work order information sheets.

· Check all consumables required have been issued to you correctly and are applicable for the job.

· Prep items in preparation for fabrication build.

· Build complex structures in preparation for welding.

· Recording and completing paperwork associated with work packs.

· Demonstrating a high standard of Health and Safety and housekeeping.

· Carrying out any other miscellaneous tasks that you are suitably trained for.

· Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by the appropriate line managers.

The successful candidate must;

· Have excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with internal customers and departments.

· Have a methodical and organised work ethic to prioritise work, whilst setting and meeting deadlines on a weekly basis.

· Have the ability to work both on their own and as part of a team.

· Experience in a similar role within a heavy fabrication industry

· Time served Pipefitter / Fabricator with a recognised Modern Apprenticeship.

Advantageous but not essential:

· Previous experience working with small bore pipework and setting up for orbital welding equipment.

· HNC / HND in relevant discipline
