We are currently seeking a Plumber to join our Repairs and Maintenance team in Sheffield. In this role you will be responsible for carrying out plumbing tasks such as repairs, installations, and diagnostics, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard. By utilising your core plumbing skills and additional expertise, you will aim to complete tasks in a single visit whenever possible, including finishing and cleaning up. This role requires excellent customer service, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently across various locations.

Outline of key responsibilities for the Plumber…

  • To carry out all types of Plumbing repairs to both tenanted and vacant properties in accordance with job tickets, opti-time appointment slots, specifications and contract drawings, in accordance with good practice.
  • To carry out work with an ethos of “Right First Time” always completing a repair where practicable in one visit, with good quality workmanship and good standard of performance.
  • To keep records such as required by either paper or electronic equivalent version, as required.
  • Will be required to undertake measurement and quantification and procure materials requirements.
  • To carry out all work with a high regard to customer care and customer satisfaction including ensuring that work is carried out protecting tenants furniture and belongings as appropriate through the use dustsheets etc, cleaning up afterwards, being polite friendly and helpful at all times and liaising with customers in a caring and sympathetic manner To undertake your duties with respect to customers and in accordance with our codes of conduct and service standards.
  • Will be expected to work on call out as per contractual agreement
  • To carry out appropriate risk assessments prior to commencement of work. Ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to protect the health, safety and welfare of you, tenants, work colleagues and members of the public
  • To work to a consistently high standard of workmanship in line with service specification, service standards, safe working procedures and as part of a team to ensure the most efficient use of time, materials and resources etc.

 

We are looking for someone who has…

  • A Full Manual UK Driving License
  • City and Guilds Craft Certificate in Plumbing or equivalent (NVQ Level 2)
  • Experience of working competently in all disciplines normally expected of a qualified Plumber working in building repairs and maintenance
  • A commitment to providing a productive, high quality and reliable service
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment
  • Experience of maximising number of jobs completed and repairs completed in one visit
  • Sound working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and how it impacts on the way building repairs are carried out
  • Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to accurately and comprehensively complete job tickets, time sheets and other associated information
