About The Position

Our technology team strives to create solutions, but also thrives in an environment of constant learning and improvement so every day is unique and challenging. There is an ample mixture of new feature work, as well as bug fixes and enhancements on an established product. The JIRA platform and companion plugins are utilized to form the backbone of the team's Agile processes.

About You

You work well in a team environment and enjoy the support and shared learning experience from a group of peers who are just as jazzed about technology as you are. You can work as a team, often pair or group programming. You also like to work autonomously and have a lot of freedom to be creative and inventive. While you have ample experience with the below technologies, you are constantly learning new tricks.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Work closely with project manager to deliver solutions that meet client needs
• Design and develop new features and improvements to our Web application
• Take initiatives to self-study and acquire domain knowledge to solve technical problems with support from project manager and domain experts
• Participate in Sprint planning meetings, work on JIRA tickets, and provide feedback to refine requirements and estimates
• Demonstrate work results during weekly status meetings
• Collaborate with the rest of the team, discuss technical issues, and share knowledge on daily basis in real time
• Perform code review with other developers
• Create documentation for new features
• Work closely with our QA team to understand and fix issues
• All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications And Skills:

• B.S. in Computer Science with 3+ years of work experience or M.S. in Computer Science with 1+ year of work experience
• Focus on front-end client-side development to support authoring of technical documents, including XML and graphics
• Knowledge and experience in HTML/HTML5, CSS, Less, JavaScript, JQuery, Angular JS, React JS, or other JavaScript frameworks
• Knowledge and experience in XML Schema/DOM, XSL/T and transformation processors such as Saxon
• Knowledge of MVC architecture
• Experience working with REST APIs provided by back-end to support XML-related user operations with Web clients
• Knowledge and experience in building Web applications served from Tomcat with Servlet, JSP

Desired Qualifications And Skills:

• Familiar with the pipelining approach, e.g., Cocoon or ANT script
• Knowledge and experience in workflow engines to model business processes, e.g., BPMN
• Familiar with XML authoring, e.g., Arbortext, XMetaL, XMLSpy, or Oxygen
• Knowledge of 2D/3D graphics/image formats and SDK, including CGM, SVG, PNG, GIF, JPEG, VRML, or other 3D CAD formats
• Knowledge and experience in XML publishing, e.g., FOP, XEP, Antenna House, Arbortext PE
• Experience in processing PDF, e.g., iText, Adobe PDF library
