We are currently looking to recruit a Finished Inspection QC to complement our team at our site in Wakefield. You will be based at our manufacturing site in Wakefield, which produces upwards of 8 million cans per day for the beverage industry. Our site is directly next to Coca Cola Enterprises on the Wakefield 41 Industrial Estate.
 

To monitor product quality, ensuring that it is manufactured to specification and that non-conforming product is not despatched to customers.

 

To observe company environmental, health and safety regulations at all times
To use established test procedures to carry out tests on manufactured products and record results
To analyse results and provide practical solutions
To relate to operatives how and why tests are carried out
To work with operatives and/or supervisors in cases of non-conformance to quickly resolve quality problems
To advise management of qualty related problems
To release only conforming products
To minimise waste and maintain a clean and tidy work environment
To maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices at all times.
To maintain accurate records according to Ball requirements
To adhere to ISO 9001 requirements.
To constantly look for opportunities to improve the process or product
To quarantine non-conforming product for sorting or disposal

 

Professional & Education Qualification

Job-related experience in a relevant field for a minimum of 2 years or holds a quality related level 3 qualification.

Skills    

Maintains and used  the standard technology, working manuals to cover the quality of the final product.
 •    Ability to learn nomenclature of all assigned equipment, products, quality standards.
•    Ability to learn to identify product defects. •    Proficient in the use of hand and power tools. 
•    Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
•    Must have strong interpersonal skills.
•    Must be able to organize, plan, and prioritize making decisions
•    Ability to meet deadlines and to concentrate and pay attention to details.
•    Ability to operate and functionally use a computer.
•    Must maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.

Salary per annum: Starter rate, £38,220,00, Improver rate, £40,610.00 and fully trained rate £43,000

The Shift Pattern is 4 on - 4 off,  average 39 hours per week. Every cycle includes 7 rotations 4 on – 4 off followed by 18 days off ( fixed vacation days included ). This shift pattern covers also 1 training day, 2 maintenance days,1 crew day and bi-monthly 1 hour communication briefing at end of shift
