MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The purpose of the role is to assist with the smooth running of vehicles and plant machinery within SRC Group and maintaining plant equipment to a high standard.Β 

RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Responsible to: Maintenance Manager

  • Responsible for: None

  • Liaison with: Managers, Employees

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MAIN TASKS OF JOB:

To perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on company vehicles.

  • Service and maintain SRC fleet of vehicles.

  • Diagnose issues with vehicles.

  • Conduct inspections and identify necessary repairs or replacements.

  • Assemble vehicle components as needed.

  • Utlise power and hand tools to complete repairs.

  • To ensure preventative maintenance, repair work, installations as appropriate is carried out as per instructions from Maintenance Manager.

  • Fault find mechanical faults and repair equipment in breakdown situation.

  • To ensure parts and equipment availability prior to commencement of any maintenance or repair work being carried out.

  • To anticipate, report or repair any Service equipment requiring remedial work that may affect the continuity of operations.

  • To complete accurate records for all work completed using Service and Inspection schedules.

  • To identify and maintain quantity and functionality of tools and equipment as instructed by the Maintenance manager.

  • To ensure issued Personal Protection Equipment is maintained in a safe and hygienic condition and used throughout the course of your related duties at all times.

  • Maintain accurate and up to date records and files.

  • To comply with the company’s Factory Production Control Manual in support of SRC Quality Objectives.

  • To act in accordance with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and practices highlighting any issues appropriately.

  • To perform duties as directed by Manager.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Must have level 3 NVQ in light vehicle maintenance or equivalent.

  • Enthusiastic, committed and a fast learner with previous experience of a busy environment

  • Health and Safety trained or working towards

  • Strong communication skills and willingness to take instruction.

  • Ability to work with individuals across departments

  • Experience working with vehicles

  • Welding experience
