The Role

To support the Site Manager in ensuring effective and efficient Stores operations through Goods Inwards, Storage, Maintenance, Assembly & Dispatch of product.

To carry out general goods inwards tasks supporting the transition of product and documentation from initial receipt through reviewing all deliverables ensuring adherence to NSG’s procedures in stock control, logistics and quality assurance.

To provide delivery & receipt of goods and services support to all aspects of the company’s operations as directed by the Procurement Lead.

To provide a comprehensive, effective management and reporting service ensuring the adherence to the procedures of NSG’s stock control and logistics.

Key Objectives

Delivery & Receipt of Goods & Services

  • Support the Procurement Lead in the management, control, authorisation, and retention of documents relating to Procurement
  • Control of deliveries and collections
  • Receiving & signing for deliveries
  • Mark up and placing of goods into holding areas and logging via Goods Inwards Form
  • Use of Procurement documentation for the purposes of managing deliveries of multiple Project and Overhead stock
  • Liaison with Facilities Manager for the receipt of services complete in a timely manner
  • Support the ESH&Q Dept. in the management, control, authorisation, and retention of Waste Transfer notes
  • Receipting of deliveries & services through the use of business accounting software in a timely manner
  • Use of Procurement Software for the purposes of managing deliveries and services
  • Use of Project specific software for the purposes of stock and part ID management. (AWE only)
  • Goods Inwards inspection of product
  • SQEP Inspections as required
  • Quarantine of goods that cannot be used and liaison with Procurement for updates relating to orders impacted
  • Collating components ready for dispatch/ returns and logging via Goods Inwards Form
  • Liaison with Project and Overhead functions for the purposes of notifying the arrival of goods
  • Support to Procurement Lead in the processing of non-conforming goods
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strong working relationships

Stores Operation

  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships within the business and the project teams to ensure effective integration
  • Stock management – ensure stock is put away in applicable section of stores ensuring maintenance and segregation of Project stock
  • Maintenance of Stock Inventory Database
  • Space management
  • Ensuring Quality Control
  • Working closely with Facility Management, Project Managers, Quality Engineers, Procurement and Site Managers
  • Operation of FLT for the purposes of Stock Management

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • GCSE / NVQ level 2 qualification in appropriate subjects including:  English, Maths, and IT - essential
  • NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in subjects relevant to the role - essential
  • Valid Forklift license or willing to complete a refresher. - essential
  • Experience of carrying out in Quality inspections of product and documentation. - essential
  • IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent - Relevant training will be provided if required

Experience & Knowledge

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar role - essential
  • Well organised with the ability to work to timescales and demonstrate attention to detail - essential
  • Routine recording and reporting of information both verbal and numerical - essential
  • Create and operate databases for storage and retrieval of information - essential
  • Use of purchase order system - desirable
  • Working to tight timescales - essential
  • Used to dealing with confidential and commercial information - essential
  • Familiar with structuring and presentation of own work - essential
  • Familiar with QSHEW operating procedures and requirements etc. - desirable
  • Experience of working with procurement systems and processes - desirable

Skills & Abilities

  • Competent user of MS Office - essential
  • Maintenance of database and physical records and files - essential
  • Interpretation, allocation, and extrapolation of data to support goods inward process - essential
  • Able to organise and prioritise own work, yet with proven ability to support and work within a team - essential
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of colleagues at all levels and with external stakeholders and contractors - essential


Package - Staff only

Hours - 37.5 hours per week

Overtime – 37.5-60hours per week – Time and half

Overtime – 60+ hours per week or Sundays – Double time

Life Assurance 3x Salary

Subsistence allowance paid for working away (50+ miles away from home location) - £200pw lodge (£50pd, 4 days max) + £25pd Food
