3 Month contract With A Local Authority
Role Overview:
To carry out day-to-day carpentry works in both tenanted and void properties, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard of workmanship
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general carpentry repairs, maintenance, and installations in residential properties.
- Work within occupied (tenanted) and vacant (void) properties with minimal disruption.
- Install, repair, and maintain doors, windows, kitchens, flooring, and other wooden fixtures.
- Carry out first and second fix carpentry as required.
- Diagnose faults and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Communicate effectively with tenants, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Complete job reports and documentation accurately and on time.
- Respond to emergency or urgent repair requests when required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a carpenter in maintenance or construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working in social housing or similar environments (desirable).
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent).
- Valid CSCS card (preferred).
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
