Location: Camberley (Hybrid Role)

Recruitment Company: Red Sky Personnel on behalf of a leading international company specialising in geotechnical and civil engineering services.


Main Purpose of the Job:


Red Sky Personnel is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the Projects Division of a major geotechnical and civil engineering company. Reporting to the Projects Division Estimating Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in securing new projects by preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates and tender presentations. This role will suit a skilled estimator with a background in geotechnical engineering solutions who is also open to expanding into civil engineering pricing.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and assess incoming enquiries, prioritising business-relevant tender opportunities.
  • Develop and execute winning bid strategies in collaboration with the technical, operations, and supply chain teams.
  • Prepare and present tender proposals to clients, engaging in negotiations and maintaining client relationships from enquiry to contract award.
  • Partner with the Project Division Business Development Manager to identify future clients and major project opportunities.
  • Participate in client engagement activities, including professional development presentations, industry exhibitions, and events.


Key Tasks:


  • Conduct cost studies and prepare internal reviews for governance approval.
  • Engage in ongoing communication with clients and stakeholders, ensuring smooth project handover to the operations team.
  • Support the Business Development Manager in identifying market opportunities and potential clients.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Degree in civil engineering, ideally with a geotechnical focus, and professional qualifications are preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the UK geotechnical and civil engineering industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy.
  • Proficient in IT applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Salesforce; knowledge of Primavera P6 and Candy is advantageous.
  • Valid UK driving licence.


Working Location:


  • Based primarily in our Camberley office with a hybrid working model (minimum three days per week in-office).
  • Travel as required to client sites, project locations, and regional offices.
