G Pattinson Fabrications Ltd are looking to recruit a Level 2 Welding Apprentice to join their team for an immediate start!
We are a growing agricultural building company based near Wigton, constructing steel-framed barns, livestock buildings, and grain stores across Cumbria.
We’re looking for a hardworking, reliable apprentice who wants to learn a skilled trade — not just get a job.
This role would suit someone aged 18–23 who wants long-term career progression in construction or weldingKey Responsibilities
- Erecting structural steel frames
- Learning MIG welding
- Installing roof and wall cladding
- Working at height (full training provided)
- Working outdoors as part of a small team
Skills & Personal Qualities
- Reliable
- Genuine interest in farming is essential: any previous hands-on farm experience would be beneficial
- Excellent time keeping
- Not afraid of physical work or heights
- Willing to work outdoors in all weathers and on farms
- Good attitude and work ethic
- Driving licence preferred (or working towards)
Pay & Progression
- Starting from £9.00 per hour (dependent on age/experience)
- Pay review after 6 months based on reliability and attitude
- Opportunity to become fully skilled steel erector/welder
