The Opportunity

As our client continue to deliver exciting and significant projects across the nuclear and defence sectors, their goal is to allow their engineers to focus on what they do best - delivering exceptional solutions for their clients.


The role

As the Mechanical Weld inspector, you will be responsible for reporting to the Quality Manager and work in collaboration with the wider quality capability; supporting manufacture for projects and programmes of work being delivered via in house capabilities.


Contract Estimated Duration - 12 months

This role has been deemed inside of IR35

Barton Upon Humber


Your duties and responsibilities will be

  • Carryout NDT and associated paperwork
  • Ensure compliance with controlling documentation
  • Liaise with Client Inspectors
  • Compile documentation packages (LTRs) concurrently


You will have the following qualifications and experience

  • Conduct front line inspection within the fabrication shops - steel work and piping and complete inspection reporting
  • 3 Years experience working within Mechanical and Weld Inspection and Testing
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Good knowledge and understanding of welding and NDT techniques
  • Some experience of working within a Nuclear regulated industry
  • Knowledge of ISO 3834 and BSEN 1090
  • Experience in both steel fabrication and pipework
  • CSWIP3.


It's great if you also have the following

  • Lead Auditor
  • RadInterp L2
  • PCNL2 - MPI / DPI
  • UT
  • You will be required to obtain BPSS security before starting
