Role Overview:

Will be responsible for delivering high-quality plastering and finishing works on social housing properties. The role involves applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces within residential properties that are part of social housing projects, ensuring that the work meets industry standards, safety regulations, and tenant satisfaction. The job also involves repairing and maintaining plastered surfaces in existing properties and helping to ensure that homes are in good condition for tenants.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces in both new builds and refurbished social housing properties.
  • Work with various plaster types (e.g., skim plaster, render, cement-based plaster) according to the specific project requirements
  • Smooth, level, and finish surfaces to ensure a high-quality and durable finish
  • Prepare and mix plastering materials to the right consistency
  • Perform plaster repairs on walls, ceilings, and other surfaces in existing social housing properties
  • Fill cracks, holes, and imperfections, restoring surfaces to a high standard
  • Ensure any repair work complies with building regulations and social housing standards
  • Prepare surfaces for plastering, including cleaning, sanding, and priming to ensure strong adhesion of the plaster
  • Install bonding agents, backer boards, or other preparation materials where needed
  • Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure safe working conditions
  • Ensure that all plastering work is done with consideration to the tenants’ needs, minimizing disruptions and maintaining clean work areas.
  • Communicate effectively with tenants and property managers to understand project requirements and timelines
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring tenants are satisfied with the work completed
  • Conduct final checks on completed work to ensure it meets both client specifications and health and safety regulations.

You will need:

  • Proven experience as a plasterer in a trade environment
  • Experience in social housing projects, or residential properties, including both new builds and refurbishments
  • Ability to work with different plastering materials and techniques (e.g., skimming, rendering, patching)
  • Experience with repairs and maintenance of plaster surfaces
  • Strong plastering skills, including applying and finishing plaster
  • Ability to prepare surfaces and mix plaster to the correct specifications
  • Good eye for detail and high-quality finish
  • Strong time management skills to ensure that projects are completed within agreed timelines
