Our Barnstaple facility is located in North Devon. Founded in 1948, the site now employs approximately 140 employees and features the Aero Stanrew brand of electromagnetic components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for safety critical applications in aerospace and defence, industrial and transportation industries.

TT Barnstaple are currently trialling a 4-day working week and during that time you can either opt in or out of the pilot. hours of work available are:

OPT IN -  Monday to Thursday 7.15am to 5.30pm.
OPT OUT - Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm/Friday 8am to 1pm

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

Support the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the business logistics parts supply section to achieve kit & parts to customer delivery requirements and operational KPIs.

 

Focus on the inbound inspection to all requirements of the contract including Quality Control criteria and technical assessment/validation of all inbound materials.

 

Closely working with the Good Inwards Operative(s) to ensure only compliant materials enter the business environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Always demonstrate safe behaviour and ensure yourself and others in your working areas are safe and not exposed to significant risk.
  • Review and inspect inbound materials into the business from the supply chain including all technical documentation, critical drawing elements, measurement, and liaise with the Quality Engineers for First Article Inspection Criteria when applicable
  • Working with the inbound team Label & store parts in the appropriate warehouse after review is concluded
  • Liaise with the Supplier Quality team, Procurement team, and Suppliers to process non-compliant product returns and clearly identify and communicate those issues to prevent dispute
  • Support Conformity & Despatch with inspection criteria relevant to the packing product ready for shipping
  • Support cycle business stock counting/annual Stocktake where appropriate (quarantine or restricted locations)
  • Support the performance, maintenance & display of operational KPIs working with the team by way of Tier 1 meetings to improve area performance with respect to Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery.
  • Ensures the security and accuracy of materials and goods with inventory control.
  • Support continuous improvement/ lean activities in line with quality clinics line or area project improvements
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Maintain strong alignment with AS9100 and other compliance requirements, Supporting ISO and External audits as necessary to ensure compliance with policies and expectations.
  • Interact with internal customers and key stakeholders at all levels as required.
  • Travel may be required to support business needs
  • You may be required from time to time to undertake such other duties as the company may reasonably require.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

Skills and Experience

 

Essential

  • Experienced in Aerospace industry or similar industry.
  • AS9100 rev D awareness.
  • Proven track record in effective logistics parts and drawing controls.
  • High focus to detail and understanding of Technical Drawings.
  • Able to support lean improvements in a structured way to continually improve team performance.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to identify and implement new technologies to add value to the existing processes.
  • Demonstratable experience in a similar role
  • Able to use digital PC based EPR and MRP systems

 

Desirable

  • IOSH managing safely trained.
  • Forklift certification may be required to support (Certified training will be provided)
  • Driving licence and agreement to sign up to TT Electronics driver controls (Online System)
  • Previous experience in lean principles
  • Knowledge of our customers and their industry, Aerospace, Marine, Defence
  • Experience of dealing with suppliers & government agencies both internal/external
  • Engineering Qualification or equivalent
  • Able to understand & use courier booking systems
